Google+ Rolls Out Beautiful New Pages Management Dashboard
Google+ quietly rolled out a beautiful new look to their brand page management dashboard this morning. The new design features a miniature version of the brand page with full access to notifications, number of followers, when the last post was published, the ability to edit managers, view the page, and change settings. Previously the dashboard was very minimalistic and showed no insight into the page without switching to the page itself; something that was very time consuming if you manage multiple accounts.
The update gives community managers an easy way to manage multiple brand accounts from one place without having to switch back and forth to check for notifications and updates. Thus far brands have struggled to adopt to the Google+ platform and are seeing very little interaction and engagement from their communities. On the other hand, it is extremely important for brands to create a Google+ account and run a consistant content strategy. Google+ optimization and content creation is essentially the new SEO, especially on a local level.
By posting quality keyword dense content, approving their location, and optimizing their brand page businesses can expect to rise in search results for users overtime. Google+ has over 400 million users, 100 million of which are active. These numbers are not small figures and as time goes on you can expect Google+ to rise in popularity; specifically with the rise in Android phones, Project Glass, and Google+ Communities.
The fresh new update is sure to be a hit among marketers. Anything the improves efficiency and saves time is always good thing. It will be interesting to see what other changes and upgrades the Google+ team has in store for brand pages in 2013.
